A Walk

Walking through a leafless street,

no one here, no one to meet

Alone with my thoughts I try and see

what things would be like, if things could be.

I tried the corner the other day,

tomorrow I'll go the other way.

Life in a panic is no way to live,

for who did this to me, I may forgive.

A short walk, a long walk, 'tis all the same

when all you feel is a bitter pain.

Maybe I did it to myself, maybe not,

but love for the future I would give a lot.

How often we take a walk for granted,

not seeing or hearing all that is wanted.

We miss all the things that surround us today,

but listen! they really have not gone away,

they are with us, they are here to stay.
