See two Cathedrals and two football teams.

European capitol of culture 2008 and proud,

A heritage that goes back 800 years is found.

Sitting on the banks of the river Mersey deep and wide

Looking over to the Wirral, lying on the other side,

Reaching out to Liverpool bay and the Irish Sea

Watch Liverpool's Maritime history of good and bad for all to see.

The docks, the shops and historical buildings are all worthwhile,

But take a look at the modern too, you will be here a while.

The olde streets where Victorian dramas are filmed

The new buildings and hotels where people stay or are glimmered.

Liverpool, just down the road from where I have lived for 30 years

Still I find new things to keep me going back, to shed more tears.

Liverpool is growing, Liverpool is vibrant,

Liverpool is music to the living heart.
